About the Servers

Turtle Island has six Fediverse instances and one web server. Mastodon, Akkoma, Pixelfed & WordPress run on six virtual private servers.

1. The TurtleIsland.social Mastodon server is in Masto.host, which is professionally managed Mastodon hosting at its best. This server is scalable to virtually any number of active users, extremely reliable and the most suitable for celebrity or high demand user accounts.
2. The Allies.social Mastodon server is in Masto.host, which is professionally managed Mastodon hosting at its best. This server is scalable to virtually any number of active users, extremely reliable and the most suitable for celebrity or high demand user accounts.
3. The TurtleIsland.rocks Akkoma server is a DigitalOcean dedicated virtual server with 1 Intel vCPU, 2GB RAM and 70GB NVMe SSD. The software is Ubuntu Linux, Nginx, MySQL, and Akkoma.
4. The Allies.rocks Akkoma server is a DigitalOcean dedicated virtual server with 1 Intel vCPU, 2GB RAM and 70GB NVMe SSD. The software is Ubuntu Linux, Nginx, MySQL, and Akkoma.
5. The TurtleIsland.buzz and Allies.buzz Pixelfed server is a DigitalOcean dedicated virtual server with 2 Intel vCPU, 4GB RAM and 70GB NVMe SSD, and CDN storage of limitless capacity for the image and video files. The software is Ubuntu Linux, Nginx, MySQL, PHP, and Pixelfed.
6. TurtleIsland.blog and YehudaRothschild.com are on a DigitalOcean dedicated virtual server with 2 Intel vCPU, 2GB RAM and 90GB NVMe SSD. The software is Ubuntu Linux, Nginx, MySQL, PHP, and WordPress.

All remote server access and design work is done with an Apple Mac Studio and an Apple MacBook Pro. Image and graphics editing are done with GIMP and Inkscape.

All the above software is open source. All WordPress plugins used are free versions.
