Migrating to/from the TurtleIs.land PDS is currently an option

Part of the great promise of the Bluesky AT protocol is true and complete account portability including content. Today, this promise is partially fulfilled.

With 3rd party tools, you can migrate your account and content from the Bluesky mothership to an independently owned and operated Bluesky PDS (such as the TurtleIs.land Bluesky PDS). You can also migrate your account and content from an independently owned and operated Bluesky PDS to another independently owned and operated Bluesky PDS. All this can be done with a simple and easy to use desktop/laptop web app called AT Airport. Mobile is not supported currently. Other apps are in development as well.

Migrating back to Bluesky remains unfinished

The Bluesky PDS is not currently accepting incoming migrations (it will in the future). Therefore this is currently a one-way street. If you migrate off of bsky.social, you will not be able to return. However, you will be able to migrate between other PDSs.

Importantly, there is no function for migrating back to the Bluesky mothership. We also expect this to change but there is no ETA. When this changes it will be documented here.
